Orange County Week of the Family Champion Sponsor Bright House Networks Wants Families to Take Advantage of Free Events October 31 through November 7 2009

Maitland, FL--As the Community Champion Sponsor of the Seventh Annual Orange County Week of the Family events, Bright House Networks encourages Central Florida families to take advantage of a number of fun and educational family-oriented events during the week-long celebration from Sat., Oct. 31 through Sat., Nov. 7, 2009.

Both the Orlando City Council and the Orange County Commission have approved proclamations declaring Oct. 31 through Nov. 7 as Orange County Week of the Family, and thousands of local residents are expected to attend the community events held around the county during the week. Local residents are also encouraged to support the "Heart and Sole" service project this year by donating a pair of youth-size tennis shoes at local fire stations in Orlando and Orange County through Nov. 7. The tennis shoes donated through the service project will be given to the children of clients of the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida

A full schedule of the Seventh Annual Orange County Week of the Family events can be found at the official website: www.weekofthefamily.org

The week will kick off on Sat., Oct. 31, with the city of Winter Park's 6th Annual Family Fall Festival, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Central Park in downtown Winter Park. Come enjoy free activities--meet the "Squircle Surfer" in the Bright House Networks booth next to the main music stage in the park, and play the "Squircle Toss" game to win prizes. Many other booths and exhibitors will be present at the event, and because it is being held on Halloween, candy will be given out to the kids who attend--especially if they come to the event in their Halloween costumes.

Many more events will be held during the week, and then at the finale celebration on Sat., Nov. 7, 2009, at Jay Blanchard Park in Orange County, thousands of local families are expected to take advantage of the food, music and activities--including a kite-flying contest. The Family Fun Day and Family Fun Kite Festival event will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.--parking will be available at nearby University High School and shuttle buses will provide free and fast transportation to and from the event.
