PowerBoost is a new technology that will allow Road Runner Turbo customers to temporarily experience a download speed up to 50% faster than the 15Mbps download speed standard with Road Runner Turbo.
- PowerBoost recognizes when customers are handling big files - It automatically kicks in when there is extra bandwidth available to handle video, photos, software and music faster.
- Temporarily boosts the download speed - When extra bandwidth is available on Bright House Networks fiber network, customers will temporarily experience faster download speeds.
- PowerBoost is not available with DSL or Dial-up - PowerBoost technology utilizes Bright House Networks fiber network and your cable modem to give you a burst of speed when you need it most.
- Best of all, PowerBoost is Free! - Now available to Road Runner Turbo customers. No signup necessary - it's automatically available at no charge.
How can I get PowerBoost?
PowerBoost is available to our Road Runner Turbo customers at no additional charge. Our customers with Road Runner 7Mbps can upgrade to Road Runner Turbo for just $10 more per month. Order Road Runner Turbo with PowerBoost today!
Additional PowerBoost Information
- Each PowerBoost lasts for short period of time (several seconds). Think of PowerBoost as jumpstarting a large file download.
- There are no on-screen indicators when a PowerBoost is taking place. But you should notice a shorter download time when downloading a large file, such as software, games, music, and photos.
- You are not limited to a certain number of “PowerBoosts,” rather they are granted as often as the network availability allows.

PowerBoost requires a subscription to Road Runner Turbo. PowerBoost provides a short burst of download speed when capacity is available above the customer’s provisioned download speeds. Service then reverts to the provisioned speed for the remainder of the download. Many factors affect speeds, including network capacity when requests are made so actual speeds will vary.
